The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Brandt at 9 am. All members were in attendance.

Supervisor Brandt started a discussion of law enforcement coverage options. Brandt explained that the Sherriff, as well as police officers from Breezy Point, Crosslake, and Pequot Lakes are all able to respond to calls within Ideal. In addition, officers from the Sherriff’s office regularly patrol in the Township. In conclusion, the Board felt that additional coverage in the Township was not needed at this time.

The clerk presented the list of claims for approval that were pending since none had been prepared for the April board meeting. Motion by Wortham, seconded by Brandt to approve claims #17763-17798 totalling $27,572.55 plus addition of one claim for Char Brown (cleaning service) for $50.

A discussion took place regarding improvements to internal control of the transfer station receipts. Supervisor Brandt suggested that the attendant be responsible for bringing receipts to the bank night deposit after each day of operation. The clerk agreed to follow-up with the bank to set up the procedure.

A discussion took place regarding the location of the fuel tank at the Sno-Pros building. Under current regulation, the tank is placed too close to the building. Supervisor Brandt will verify the regulation and make a recommendation for moving the tank.

As there was no further business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 10:45 am.
