The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were in attendance.
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to accept the minutes of the October 16th, 2006 Board Meeting as read. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to accept the Treasurers report for October, 2006. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to pay all November bills presented for payment by the Clerk, check number 13774 through check number 13808, totaling $98,200.67. Carried - unanimous
Bob and Marilyn Oluf thanked the Board for the work done on the culvert on Wabigoniss Shores Road.
Linda and Joe Schalley requested information regarding the dog park they proposed last year. Supervisor Plein advised the Schalleys that there was no money in the budget for 2006-2007 but it would be considered in the future.
The Road and Bridge report was as follows:
- Supervisor Brandt reported the new truck's radio was installed and the battery problem fixed.
- Brandt read a letter from Anderson Bros regarding the cracks on our newly paved road, West Shore Drive, advising the township that the permanent repairs would be done next spring with the township incurring no additional costs.
- Brandt reported on a recent meeting regarding the improvement of Fawn Lake Road. All four jurisdictions agreed to the construction now that a grant had been received from the State of Minnesota covering 75% of the total costs with proposed construction beginning in March of 2007.
- Brandt reported on a letter from Crow Wing Power regarding any major projects proposed for the next 15 years in the township. Brandt agreed to contact Crow Wing Power and advise accordingly.
- There were no safety incidents.
Supervisor Brandt advised the Board that a letter had been sent to Brad Scott at the City of Breezy Point outlining the Boards recommendation regarding access to the Debee property. Brandt stated the Debee petition is currently on hold until litigation is complete.
The Fire Department report as follows:
- There were 4 fire runs the previous month.
- Bruce Schultz reported the dormers at Station 2 would be worked on this month.
- Schultz advised the Board that one of the pickups was beyond repair and requested a new truck be purchased out of the Fire Department non-budget fund.
- Effective December 2006, the new ISO fire rating for residence within five driving miles of Station 2 would be a 9 and Schultz requested a notice be published in the Echo advising residence of the change for insurance purposes.
- There were no safety incidents.
The Board advised Schultz to begin looking for a new pickup to be purchased out of non-budget funds available.
There was nothing new to report on Park and Recreation.
The Transfer Station Report was as follows:
- Brandt reported the appliances and metal were picked up from the transfer station.
- The station will be open Saturdays only, from 8 am to 5 pm beginning on November 15th.
- Big island volunteers were beginning to collect wood at the station to haul out to the island this winter.
The Clerk and Supervisor Brandt reported on the recent General Election.
The Clerk advised the Board that a Planning and Zoning Endorsement had been added to the townships insurance policy at a cost of $250 annually.
Brandt advised the other Board members that an updated ordinance book for Crow Wing County was now available from the Clerk.
Brandt presented a letter of support and a donation to the Fire Department from Dale Orred in support of Station 2.
