The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taylor at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were present.
Motion by Badger to approve the minutes of the April l0, 2000 Board meeting as read. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Caughlan to accept the treasurers report for February, 2000 as presented. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Caughlan to pay all May bills presented for payment by the clerk. Carried - unanimous
Bids tor road construction tor the year 2000 were opened. There was only one bid received, that being from Anderson Brothers. Their bid for the construction work was $65,867.10. This figure could be reduced dependent on the amount of prep work performed by Road and Bridge.
Motion by Badger to accept the Anderson Brothers bid of $65,867.10 for the year 2000 road construction. Carried - unanimous
Quotes to upgrade the heating systems in the Road and Bridge areas and tor the tire department bay were considered. One more quote must be received before a decision can be made. Bach will check with Thelen Heating of Brainerd. The matter was tabled until the next meeting.
Taryn Saccoman, representing Partners 56472, made a presentation to the board. They are developing a Lakes Area Parks and Recreation Department. There goal is to assist area communities obtain grants and in writing grant applications. Support for their efforts was requested and given by the Board.
The road and bridge report was as follows:
- Construction on Echo Bay Rd. and Valhalla Rd is to begin this week.
- Would like to have the plows sandblasted and painted.
- Ideal has been assisting Breezy Point with Fawn Lake Rd.
- The ceiling is leaking in the hallway.
- A meeting was held with the City of Crosslake and the Army Corp of Engineers concerning West Shore Drive. There will be no action taken until Crosslake decides their course of action.
- There have been no safety incidents.
- Breezy Point has indicated that the use of labor and equipment on Fawn Lake Rd would equal our Township portion of the tarring and class 5 for that road.
The fire department report was given by the clerk on behalf of Chief Schultz.
- There were 2 fire runs the previous month.
- There have been no safety incidents.
- The department would like to add an 8' X 12' addition to the dispatcher's office. The cost would be approximately $3,500. No action taken.
Winnamakee Shores Rd. was discussed. It was decided to send a letter to the 2 parties who might donate road ROW property to the Town.
The clerk reported that the dumpsters at the transfer station were being repaired and painted. The bottoms have rusted out and affluent runs out onto the ground. The cost should be approximately $1,400. He also indicated that CWC Solid Waste was unhappy with the number of paint cans collected with no questionnaires filled out. Additionally, an MPCA inspection was held. A letter will be received outlining some corrections to be made.
Replacement of the Township tractor was discussed. The state bid has the tractor with options listed at approximately $53,776. No action taken.
A letter was read from Tom Hermel requesting dust retardant for their road. The Town does not use dust retardant.
The clerk reminded the Board of the Board of Review to be held on May 23, 2000 at 10:00 A.M.
