The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 9:00A.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were in attendance.

Motion by Brandt to accept the minutes of the December 8th, 2003 Board meeting as read. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Steffen to pay all January bills presented for payment by the clerk. Carried - unanimous

The Road and Bridge Report was as follows:

1. Denny Rahm reported on the recent snow removal and sanding in the Township .
2. There were no safety incidents.

The Fire Department report was as follows:

1. There were 2 fire calls the previous month.
2. Chief Schultz reported Guy Nelson retired from the Fire Department effective 12/31/03 and requested the Clerk place an ad for additional Fire Fighters in the Echo.
3. There were no safety incidents.

The 2005 Fire Department budget, including expenses for the proposed North side substation, was discussed.

There was nothing new to report on Park and Recreation.

The Transfer Station Report was as follows:

1. Supervisor Brandt reported that the Crow Wing County Sentence to Serve crew was finishing the interior of the Transfer Station office last week.

An estimate from Fischer Signs was presented to the Board by the clerk to do touch up work on the Township vehicles at a cost of $200.

Motion by Brandt to have Fischer Signs do touch up work on the Township vehicles at a cost of $200. Carried - unanimous
Supervisor Steffen advised the Board of the next Ideal Township Comprehensive Planning Meeting for the Committee on Monday, January 12th, 2004 and a public meeting scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2004.

There being no further Township  business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 10:12 A.M.
