Board Meeting August 2004

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 7:01 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  All Board Members were present.

Motion by Brandt to accept the minutes of the July 12th, 2004 Board Meeting as read.  Carried­ unanimous

Motion by Brandt to accept the Treasurers report for July 2004. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Steffen to pay all August bills presented for payment by the Clerk. Carried - unanimous

The Road and Bridge Report was as follows:

  1. Ken Athmann reported on mowing in the Township.
  2. There were no safety incidents.

Supervisor Wortham reported Anderson Brothers would be doing some rework on N. Kimble Lane and the end of Winnamakee Shores this month and begin work on Father Foley.

Wortham advised the Board that the Sorenson's requested the Township take over road maintenance of Hidden Creek Court. A short discussion followed. Motion by Wortham to accept Hidden Creek Court as a Township Road and for the Township to begin maintaining it when it becomes revenue bearing. Carried - unanimous

Supervisor Steffen announced the Annual Fire Department Beef Feed, scheduled for Wednesday, August 11th beginning at 4:00pm.

Supervisor Brandt reported the rezoning request for the North-Side Substation was approved by Planning and Zoning from Agricultural to Public on July 22nd and was scheduled for review by the Board of Commissioners on August 1oth for final approval. Brandt reported he expected to receive a certificate of the survey next week followed by the closing on the property the following week.

There was nothing new to report for Park and Recreation.

The Transfer Station Report was as follows:

  1. Supervisor Brandt is in the process of scheduling removal of appliances and tires from the Transfer Station.

Supervisor Steffen requested the Clerk contact the Ideal/Crosslake Lions regarding a donation towards the radar software to be used with the speed monitor.

A discussion regarding the current employee status in the Maintenance Department took place.

Supervisor Steffen reported on the bids received to replace the damaged roof of the Town Hall and Fire Station. Motion by Brandt to accept the bid of $27,350 from Downare to replace the damaged roof. Carried - unanimous

Supervisor Brandt reported on a legal training course he attended in St. Cloud.

Brandt is now certified by the Board of Appeals and Equalization as recently required by state law.

There being no further Township business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 8:02P.M.
