The meeting was called to order at 9:00 am. All members and the Clerk were in attendance.

Under the provisions regarding filling town board vacancies in Minn. Stat. § 367.03, subd. 6, the remaining town board members and the clerk form the Appointment Committee. The Committee is given the authority to select and appoint a supervisor to fill the vacancy until the next township election.

Individual interviews of three potential candidates to replace Supervisor Wortham took place. Each candidate presented background information about their experience and made comments about their knowledge of township government.

After the interviews were completed, the Committee reviewed each candidate’s qualifications and discussed their relative suitability for the position. The Committee felt that all three candidates were well qualified and would be good representatives for the community.

Motion by Bilek, second by Peterson to appoint Curt Johnson as Town Board Supervisor to replace Bill Wortham effective January 1, 2016. Carried unanimous.

The Clerk will prepare a Certificate of Appointment and will meet with Johnson to execute all required paperwork for employment.

Further discussion of transition plans took place. Supervisor Wortham offered to be available as a consultant to help with the transition and to help complete some projects that are in progress. Wortham and the Clerk discussed plans for transferring files to the township.

There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 12:45 pm.
