Board Meeting January 2001

The Meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Badger at 7:15P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Supervisor Taylor was absent.

Motion by Caughlan to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2000, meeting as read.
Carried - unanimous

Motion by Caughlan to accept the treasurers report for December, 2000 as presented. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Caughlan to approve payment of all January, 2001 bills presented for payment by the clerk. Carried - unanimous

The bid for insulating and paneling the interior walls of the maintenance garage was reviewed. The bid was from Chisholm Construction and was in the amount of $4,696.00 . This included labor, material, and all electrical work.

Motion by Caughlan to accept the bid from Chisholm Construction and have the work completed as soon as possible. Carried - unanimous

The Road and Bridge report was as follows:

  1. A trip is planned to Eau Claire, Wise . To check on tractors and mowers .
  2. The wing on the L8000 has been repaired for approximately $1,200.00.
  3. There have been no safety incidents.

The Fire Department report was as follows:

  1. There were 7 fire runs the previous month.
  2. The department needs to purchase some turnout gear for up to $3,600.00 .
  3.  #9515 needs to have pump and transmission repair for up to $6,285.00.
  4. There have been no safety incidents.

Motion by Caughlan to approve the repair of #9515 as necessary and to purchase 2 new sets of turnout gear. Carried - unanimous

Supervisor Badger reported that there will be a salary review meeting at the clerk's office on Friday, January 12, 2001.  Proposals will be presented at the regular February meeting.

The clerk reported that there was nearly a 50% increase in the collection of recyclables for the 2001 over 2000.

Fire Chief Ron Schultz reported a need for a heat tape on the east side of the building as the roof drain has been frozen.

Resident Dick Shurtz, Montour Drive, wanted to know what the requirements are to have a road accepted for maintenance by the Township. The Board responded that a 66' ROW was needed and the driving surface must be brought up to specifications with Class 5 gravel.

The Board asked the clerk to advertise bids for a tractor and mower. The bids should be opened at the February budget and audit meeting.

The clerk requested permission to attend the annual Legal Seminar in St. Paul January 24 and January 25, 2001.

Motion by Caughlan to permit the clerk to attend the annual Legal Seminar. Carried - unanimous

There being no further Township business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
