The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taylor at 7:00P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisor Badger was absent.
Motion by Taylor to accept the minutes of the October 8, 2001 meeting as read. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Wortham to approve the treasurer 's report for the month of October as presented. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Wortham to pay all November bills presented for payment by the clerk. Carried - unanimous
An Ideal resident, Celia Foss, had questions regarding the ownership of some property down Peoria Road. It was determined that the lot was public land and part of the road right of way.
The specifications for the new Fire Apparatus were reviewed.
Motion by Wortham to approve the specifications for the new Fire Apparatus. Carried - unanimous.
Fire Chief Schultz requested that the Clerk write a letter to Nor-son Construction regarding a recent gas line break.
The road and bridge report was as follows:
- The Ideal Maintenance Department and Anderson Bros completed the work on South Pt. Drive. Class 5 was brought in and the culvert was extended.
- Wortham attending the Crow Wing County meeting regarding the improvements on Highway 39. He reports they plan to begin work on the three mile stretch in June and hope to have it completed by late summer.
- The new John Deere mower has arrived.
- There have been no safety incidents.
The fire department report was as follows:
- Four people attended the State Fire Convention in Duluth.
- There were 4 fire runs the previous month.
- #9516 has been repaired and is back in service.
- There have been no safety incidents.
Motion by Taylor to pay Chief Schultz the yearly mileage compensation of $1200. Carried - unanimous.
There was nothing to report concerning the park and recreation area.
Wortham reported that the Transfer Station is now open only on Saturdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The purchase of additional land by the Township was discussed.
Taylor asked the clerk to contact the Minnesota Association of Townships about adult oriented businesses and the regulations.
The clerk reported that a letter was sent to CWC planning and zoning regarding PUD's and density as discussed at the October 8th, 2001 meeting.
The Centennial Fireworks contract was presented, reviewed and signed by Taylor and Wortham.
The Clerk informed the Board Members that the painter originally hired to paint the Town Hall has been unable to finish the job. Bob Whistler has been hired to finish the job at a cost of $3200, including materials and labor.
Taylor addressed the fact that the furnace in the Town Hall is not igniting. Doug Duvall from Arctic Air presented an estimate of $2750 to replace the furnace immediately.
Motion by Wortham to have Arctic Air replace the furnace at a cost of $2750. Carried unammous.
There being no further Township business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 8:32P.M.
