The Special Meeting to open the Fire Apparatus bids was called to order at 10:00 am by Chairman Taylor with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were present.
Jeff Rhein presented a bid to the Board from Metro Fire. A Bid Bond was also included. The deliery price was $464.913.00. Taylor asked Rhein if Metro Fire would hold their price until the February 11th, 2002, Board Meeting. Rhein stated that Metro Fire would write up an addendum to hold the pri until the February meeting. The delivery date for the Fire Truck would be 210-240 days from the approval date.
Supervisor Wortham inquired if there were any deviations from the specifications. Rhein listed four differences from the specifications:
- A larger alternator would be included.
- Metro Fire would conduct a Factory Build Conference with the builders of the truck.
- The truck would include a combination Battery Charger and Air Compressor that could be used in one outlet.
- The Foam would be plumbed.
Rhein stated that the truck would be 36'8 long, 8'4 wide and 11'3 in height.
A general discussion took place regarding the truck.
The meeting adjourned at 10:42 am.
