Board Meeting August 2005

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All Board Members were in attendance.

Motion by Brandt to accept the minutes of the July 11th, 2005 Board Meeting as read. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Brandt to accept the Treasurers report for July, 2005. Carried - unanimous

Motion by Plein to pay all August bills presented for payment by the Clerk. Carried - unanimous

Ron Meyer, from the Pine River Watershed Protection Foundation, made a brief presentation to the Board regarding the Crow Wing County Wide Sewer District. An informational meeting is scheduled for August 22nd from 6pm to 8 pm at the Ideal Town Hall.

Ideal Fire Fighter, Tom Johnson, proposed increasing the annual benefit level per Fire Fighter from $1,600 to $1,900 in the year 2006. A discussion regarding the Relief Association took place. The Board agreed to review the information and make a decision soon.

The Road and Bridge Report was as follows:

  1. Rahm reported on the paving of Old Whiskey and Forrest Knolls Road.
  2. There were no safety incidents.

Dale Orred, an Ideal resident, advised the Board of several concerns he had regarding Father Foley Road.

The Fire Department Report was as follows:

  1. There was one fire run the previous month.
  2. Bruce Schultz reported the Department was purchasing a new computer.
  3. The Department was having a house burn on August 17th.
  4. There were no safety incidents.

Supervisor Brandt gave a report on the progress of the North-side substation. Brandt reported the builder was approximately two weeks behind but the building should be completed near the end of the month.

Dale Orred congratulated the Board on the progress of the North-side substation.

Supervisor Plein reported the swing set was on the way along with fencing for the park.

TheTransfer Station report was as follows:

  1. Brandt reported that all appliances and scrap metal were picked up this month.
  2. Crow Wing County picked up all the Hazardous Waste.

Supervisor Plein gave an up-date on the progress of the improved Township web-site.

The Clerk presented the Board with a proposal from Jim Nehl to rezone a piece of property from commercial to residential on Ossawinamakee Road. The Board agreed to conduct an on-site inspection before making a decision.

The Board reviewed the survey results from the speed monitor along several township roads.

The Clerk advised the Board of a letter the County Surveyor sent to all residents along Scotch Lane concerning removal of a township sign.

There being no further Township business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 8:14 P.M.
