The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were in attendance.
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to accept the minutes of the January 8th, 2007 Board Meeting and February 5th Special Meeting as presented. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to accept the Treasurers report for January, 2007. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to pay all bills presented for payment by the Clerk, check number 13970 through check number 14003, totaling $26,488.77. Carried - unanimous
There was no new business discussed during open forum.
The Road and Bridge report was as follows:
- Maintenance Supervisor Rahm reported on salting and sanding on township roads.
- The Maintenance Department has been doing brushing along several township roads.
- There were no safety incidents.
Supervisor Brandt reported on a meeting scheduled in Crosslake regarding Fawn Lake Road.
The Fire Department report as follows:
- There were 5 emergency runs the previous month.
- Bruce Schultz reported on two minor safety incidents during a call.
- Schultz reported on the maximum occupancy capacity for the town hall.
- The Timothy Township Fire Contract was discussed.
- Schultz requested the carpet in the Fire Department meeting room be replaced.
A discussion regarding the SCBA systems took place.
Motion by Wortham, seconded by Brandt to proceed with ordering 12 MSA units per the estimate presented by Chief Schultz. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Brandt, seconded by Plein to install signage indicating the maximum town hall capacity at 200 people. Carried - unanimous
There was nothing new to report for Park and Recreation.
The Transfer Station report was as follows:
- Supervisor Brandt reported the small dumpsters were being rebuilt by the maintenance department, including painting and new lids for easier access.
- Brandt reported on the counties new policy regarding disposal of mattresses.
- The wood stored at the transfer station was hauled out to Big Island last week.
Brandt gave a report on the Sanitary Sewer District.
Brandt also advised the Board that the Kehring Cartway appeal was dismissed by the judge due to lack of subject matter, however there is a 60 day appeal process that the defendants could pursue.
Supervisor Plein presented a draft of the Ideal Newsletter for review by the board.
The clerk reported on a meeting at the County Auditors office regarding the township election process. A long discussion regarding the pros and cons of having a March election versus the proposed November election took place. The board agreed to consider each option and advise of their decision soon.
