Roads & Bridges
Ideal Township maintains approximately 49 miles of road. Please be considerate of pedestrians, bicyclers and other drivers by driving safely at all times.
All Township roads have a weight limit of 9 tons per axle. The Township does not post lower limits seasonally.

If you are adding mail service to your property and need a mailbox support installed please call or email the Township Clerk.

Driveway Permit
Ideal Township requires property owners to obtain a permit to create a new access from a property onto a township road. This process allows the Township, as road authority, to review new driveways to insure proper safety and drainage for the roadway.
Please mark the location of your new driveway with stakes and then call or email the Township Clerk regarding your application.

Recent Projects
2024: Overlayed a portion of Taray Road and Father Foley Road. Chip sealed Clear Blue Avenue, Gasink Road, Kimble Lodge Road, Ossawinnamakee Road, Schaller Road, Shadow Trail, and Winnamakee Shores.
2023: Overlayed a portion of South Arrowhead Drive and Gasink Road, approximately 1.4 miles. Chip sealed Birchdale Villa Drive, Hidden Creek Court, Northwood Drive, Red Cedar Lodge, Ruttger Road, Star Lake Camp Road, Storage Road, Twin Pond Lane, West Clear Lake Road, and Wild Turkey Trail, approximately 4.85 miles.
