Town Board Meetings

Board Meeting July 2015

Monday, July 13, 2015 - 7:00pm

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Peterson at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisors Peterson and Bilek were in attendance. The Clerk and 2 other persons were also present.

Motion by Bilek, seconded by Peterson to accept the minutes of the June 8th Board Meeting as amended. Carried unanimous.

Dale Orred presented a report on the status of the Minnesota 100 organization and its activities over the last year. The organization provides emergency funding to families of fire fighters and police officers in Minnesota.

Monday, June 8, 2015 - 9:30pm

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wortham at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisors Wortham, Peterson, and Bilek were in attendance. Chief Schultz, the Clerk, and 3 other persons were also present.

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Bilek to accept the minutes of the May 11th Board Meeting, and the May 18th Special Meeting as presented. Carried unanimous.

Dale Orred presented a $250 donation for the Fire Department Station II fund. He plans to report next month on the status of the Minnesota 100 organization and its activities over the last year.

Monday, May 11, 2015 - 7:00pm

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wortham at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisors Wortham, Peterson, and Bilek were in attendance. Chief Schultz, the Clerk, and 16 other persons were also present.

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Bilek to accept the minutes of the April 13th Board Meeting, the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization Meeting, and the April 24th Special Meeting as presented. Carried unanimous.

Local Board of Appeal & Equalization 2015

Friday, April 24, 2015 - 10:00am

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 10 am. Supervisors Bilek, Peterson, & Wortham were in attendance, along with the Clerk and representatives from the county land services office, Gary Griffin & Sandra Ehrich. Nine residents were present.

Mr. Griffin started the meeting by reading a report explaining conditions and process relating to the assessment of property during the year. He explained the meeting procedure and the options that can be taken by the Town Board. He also reported on the overall changes to value within the township.

Board Meeting April 2015

Monday, April 13, 2015 - 7:00pm

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wortham at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisors Wortham, Peterson, and Bilek were in attendance. Chief Schultz, the Clerk, and eleven other persons were also present.

Wortham welcomed new Board member John Bilek and thanked Chief Schultz for providing helpful info about the election results.

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Bilek to accept the minutes of the March 9th Board Meeting, and the March 23rd Special/Reorganizational Meeting as presented. Carried unanimous.

Reorganizational Meeting March 23, 2015

Monday, March 23, 2015 - 8:00am

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am. Supervisors Wortham & Peterson, Supervisor-elect John Bilek, the clerk, and one resident were present.

The clerk presented Bilek with a Certificate of Election and administered the Oath of Office.

The officers received training by the MN Association of Townships. After the training sessions, the Board convened to conduct the Reorganizational Meeting.

Monday, March 9, 2015 - 7:00pm

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Brandt at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisors Brandt & Wortham, Chief Schultz, and the clerk were in attendance. Two other persons were present.

Motion by Wortham, seconded by Brandt to accept the minutes of the February 9th Board Meeting as amended, and the March 6th Board of Audit Meeting as presented. Carried unanimous.

Board of Audit March 6 2015

Friday, March 6, 2015 - 9:00am

The meeting was called to order at 9 am. Supervisors Brandt & Wortham and the Clerk were in attendance.

The management and governance letters prepared by the auditor were reviewed and issues discussed. Areas of concern included cross-training and backup for the clerk, internal controls for handling receipts at the Transfer Station, and that a procedures manual should be developed. Samples of what other townships are using will be obtained as a starting point.
