The meeting was called to order at 12:00 pm. Supervisors Peterson, Bilek & Johnson and Clerk Plein & Deputy Royce were in attendance. Staff members Rahm, Hoefs, Fields, and Gens were also present.
Peterson welcomed all township employees and conveyed the Board’s appreciation for their dedication and hard work over the year.
Chairman Peterson presented a review of all the year’s changes and challenges for the Township. Many enhancements were made that improve the services, efficiency and safety we provide to our residents including new contracts with a hauler for the Transfer Station, a new cold storage area added to the Maintenance Building, a new tractor & mower, and ROW clearing on all roads.
A review of the plans for 2019 were presented by Board members. Supervisor Bilek outlined issues with the Transfer Station that are to be addressed in 2019 including a response to increases in disposal costs that will necessitate increasing pricing. He is also looking to improve efficiencies by repositioning containers. Supervisor Johnson spoke about plans for replacing parts of the Town Hall’s roofs and other projects to maintain Township facilities. Peterson spoke about plans to harvest timber from the Township’s parcels adjacent to the Transfer Station.
Peterson announced wage rate increases effective January 1, 2019 that were approved at the December Board Meeting.
