SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 2019-01
RENEWING THE GRANT OF A FRANCHISE TO SPECTRUM MID-AMERICA, LLC, L/K/A CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS, (“CHARTER”) TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN
A CABLE SYSTEM IN THE TOWNSHIP OF IDEAL, MINNESOTA
The Board of Supervisors for the Township of Ideal, Crow Wing County, Minnesota (“Township”) adopted the Cable Television Franchise Ordinance (“Ordinance”) granting a cable franchise to Spectrum Mid-America, LLC, l/k/a Charter Communications (“Charter”). The Ordinance grants a non-exclusive cable franchise to Charter to operate, construct and maintain a cable system within the Township and contains specific requirements for Charter to do so.
The Ordinance includes the following: 1) imposes on Charter a franchise fee of 5% of Charter’s quarterly gross revenues; 2) establishes a franchise term of fifteen (15) years; and 3) provides a list of public buildings entitled to receive complimentary cable service.
It is hereby determined that publication of this title and summary will clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of Ordinance No. 2019-01. A copy of the entire Ordinance shall be posted at the Ideal Clerk’s Office.
It is hereby directed that only the title and summary of Ordinance No. 2019-01 be published.
