Ideal Township Board Meeting January 9th, 2006
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wortham at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were in attendance. Motion by Brandt to accept the minutes of the December 12th, 2005 Board Meeting as read. Carried - unanimous Motion by Brandt to accept the Treasurers report for December, 2005. Carried - unanimous Motion by Plein to pay all January bills presented for payment by the Clerk . Carried - unanimous Ron Schultz updated the Board on the activity of the Long Range Planning Committee. Dennis Meyer and Ed Larson from Crow Wing County were in attendance to discuss various planning and zoning, variance and comprehensive planning issues. A long discussion regarding procedures followed. Supervisor Brandt suggested the county conduct a training session for township officials on ordinances. The Road and Bridge report was as follows: - Supervisor Brandt reported on salting and scraping of township roads.
- The Maintenance Department remodeled the storage closet in the hall to better accommodate the tables and chairs.
- There were no safety incidents.
A discussion regarding the culvert on Wabigoniss took place. The Fire Department report was unavailable as Chief Schultz was paged out on a Fire Call during the meeting. There was nothing new to report for Park and Recreation. The transfer station report was as follows: - Supervisor Brandt reported no hazardous waste was being accepted at this time but collection will resume again in the spring.
- 2006 permits were now available.
- STS was splitting wood at the transfer station for Big Island.
Supervisor Wortham advised the Board that Dave Johnson accepted the open position on the Ideal Township Long Range Planning Committee. There being no further Township business to transact, the meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M. Deana St. Pierre, Clerk January 10th, 2006 |
